An Experiment.

I have been playing around making  short clips using photos of various wargames. Here is one I made earlier tonight. It will be interesting to see if it uploads successfully....

The music used is called "Chase Pulse Faster" and is Public Domain (Available from here) I find it to be quite pleasant, but tastes in music can vary widely. Making the movie was simple enough - Windows Live Movie Maker seems very user friendly. Potential wargaming use for short clips produced this way seems to be limited to either tutorials or propaganda reels - which does seem to promise a certain amount of fun.

  1. Nice, has a very cinematic feel. I did a AAR using roxio and I still need to work on slide display length. The captions were important and went by too quick. You should also take a look at http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/ you just need to credit him. A lot of interesting stuff. Look forward to seeing more news reels of the triumph of Harad armed forces.

    1. Thanks Sean, I will certainly check out the link you suggested. I am hoping to make a series of short clips to be used as blatant propaganda for both the Harad and Balkan campaigns.

  2. Nice little video! Black and white was a good touch, definitely added to the feeling of historic authenticity.

    1. Hi Paul, thanks for that - I was hoping that doing it that way would create a 'news reel' look.

  3. Interesting experiment, Brian. Looked good, though perhaps hard to see what was going on. But if were something like news footage, say - remember Movietone News at the cinema? - it looks just the deal.

My camera can do movies, with sound track, which might be something to work with sometime...
    Cheers,

  5. This is the coolest thing ever... We need to run more games and then put movies of them on Youtube.

Actually, this would be a great way to run a campaign. Send out an email link to "news footage" of each battle to update people.
